Statement in response to CQC release of Covid-19 Death Statistics

Author: Angie PetersonDate: 21st July 2021

As a long-established care home operator, we acknowledge and support the decision by our regulator, the Care Quality Commission to publish death rates experienced within our care homes and all other care home settings in England for the period 10th April 2020 to 31st March 2021.

We understand that the numbers reported today across England during the first two waves of the pandemic make difficult reading, especially given the considerable efforts and investment made by our own organisation and colleagues within our sector, in securing the very best in testing and PPE equipment it was possible to procure at the time.

Like other providers, we were dealing with an unknown epidemic, leveraging all our training and skills, day to day, to fight a threat the likes of which had never been seen.

With over 92% of our staff now vaccinated, and our continued commitment to follow Government guidance in testing our residents, staff and visitors, we aim to make our homes as safe as we can.

We would like to thank our valued staff team for their outstanding commitment and dedication during this most challenging of times.
